**Introduction** (10 minutes):
1. **Greeting and Settling Down**: Welcome the students and get them settled.
2. **Hook/Engage**: Show a basket filled with a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grains. Ask students if they can name any of the items in the basket.
3. **Objective Sharing**: Explain that today they will learn about the different foods we get from plants and why these foods are important.
**Instruction/Presentation** (15 minutes):
1. **Plant-Based Foods Introduction**: Explain that many of the foods we eat come from plants. Highlight that these foods can come from different parts of the plant like roots, stems, leaves, fruits, and seeds.
2. **Show and Tell**: Using the picture cards and real food samples, show examples of fruits (e.g., apples, bananas), vegetables (e.g., carrots, spinach), grains (e.g., rice, wheat), and nuts (e.g., almonds).
3. **Discussion**: Ask students to name some of their favorite fruits and vegetables and discuss which parts of the plant these foods come from.
**Activity** (20 minutes):
1. **Hands-On Sorting Activity**: Divide the students into small groups and give each group a set of picture cards with different plant-based foods.
2. Instruct the groups to sort the cards based on the parts of the plant (roots, stems, leaves, fruits, seeds).
3. **Group Presentation**: Have each group present their sorted cards to the class. Discuss any differences and correct any misunderstandings.
4. **Art Activity**:
- Give each student a coloring sheet with a large plant. Label different parts of the plant.
- Have them color and draw different foods that come from each part of the plant (e.g., carrots on the roots, apples on the fruit).

1. Recap Key Points: Review what they’ve learned about plant-based foods and their importance. Reinforce the idea that eating a variety of foods from different parts of plants helps us stay healthy.
